This is the first tourism booking platform that accepts payment with any holiday voucher card for all 13,500 listed accommodation units and, in a first, tourists can buy holidays in Romania even at hotels and guesthouses that do not directly accept holiday voucher payments on-site.
The BenefitBooking.ro digital platform is the newest product from BenefitOnline.ro and can be accessed by all holiday voucher card beneficiaries from all issuers in Romania.
Currently, approximately 800,000 Romanian employees receive holiday vouchers from employers, both in the private and state sectors. Holiday vouchers are deductible and exempt from employer taxes and duties, up to the limit of 6 gross minimum basic salaries for each employee, and can be granted by companies that recorded profit or income in the previous financial year. Regarding personnel paid from public funds, they receive annual holiday vouchers in the amount of 1,450 RON for each employee. Starting March 30, 2020, as a preventive measure in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, holiday vouchers can be issued exclusively on electronic support (card), according to GEO no. 35/2020.
