Beach Rehabilitation and Widening Works Begin in Eforie

Authorities have launched beach extension works in Eforie, a project that will cover 33 hectares.

Following Mamaia and Eforie, beaches in Costinesti, Olimp, and Neptun will also be rehabilitated.

The initiative is part of a large-scale beach widening project funded by European funds, valued at over EUR 800 million.

According to representatives from Romanian Waters, this project will result in Romania gaining approximately 226.12 hectares of new beaches: Mamaia – 53 hectares, Eforie – 33 hectares, Costinesti – 16 hectares, Olimp – 32 hectares, Neptun/Jupiter – 30 hectares, Aurora/Venus/Balta Mangalia – 37 hectares, Saturn/Mangalia – 20 hectares, 2 Mai – 4.5 hectares, and Agigea – 6,300 sqm.
