Be.CULTOUR Hackathon to take place in Brussels this September

The Be.CULTOUR Hackathon will take place in Brussels from September 7-9, 2022. Participants will be selected based on the innovative cultural tourism ideas they present.

Applications can be submitted until May 12 to enter the competition, with a prize of 16,500 euros available to implement the winning solution.

Four applications from Romania and the Republic of Moldova will be selected out of a total of 19.

A free training program will be accessible, through which solutions can be developed to promote the “Voivode Stephen the Great and Holy” tourist route in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

The fields addressed for providing innovative solutions are: Nature as heritage; Spiritual travel experience.

Three main concepts should be included: Circular economy in cultural tourism; Human-centered design and development; Cultural tourism as a driver of Europeanization.

Smart data management functions and digitalization can represent an advantage.

The “Voivode Stephen the Great and Holy” cross-border route was created by Romania together with the Republic of Moldova in 2019 and includes 29 tourist sites in both countries.
