The digital platform of the national cultural tourism program “Romania Attractive”, funded by the PNRR, has been expanded with support for four new languages and added 450 additional tourist attractions, bringing the total to over 700 attractions. The project, with a total value of over €7.15 million, aims to promote 12 national thematic routes and will be completed in June 2026.
One year after its launch, the “Romania Attractive” platform, initially available in Romanian and English, is now accessible in four additional languages. The content, which includes over 2,000 multimedia materials (texts, photos, videos, audio guides, 3D animations and virtual tours), has also been expanded by adding 450 additional attractions to the 275 main attractions. The latter will benefit from specific road infrastructure signage by the first half of 2026. A new facility allows interested entities, be they institutions, organizations or individuals and legal entities, to propose new tourist attractions through an online form, which will be validated by the Ministry of European Investments and Projects (MIPE) before publication.
The program, worth 36.35 million lei (about EUR 7.15 million), is funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Component 11 – Tourism and Culture. Coordinated by MIPE, the project is being implemented by a consortium formed by Terra Building, the company responsible for the signage infrastructure, and Eventya, which developed the digital platform, the content and provides the marketing activities. The platform integrates Google Maps to create customized routes and the 12 thematic routes cover the whole country, including routes of castles, chateaux, fortified and wooden churches, traditional gastronomy or Roman castles.
