ATRA invests in the expansion of the resort in Valea Doftanei

ATRA Doftana, located in the Doftana Valley, has started a large expansion and modernization project, with a total value of over EUR 7.2 million. The investment is co-financed by the Just Transition Program – RDA Sud-Muntenia and aims to develop tourism infrastructure in a sustainable spirit, adapted to the demand for premium tourism services and experience in the mountain area.

The expansion plan calls for work on the existing building, including over-stacking and re-compartmentalization, and the addition of 20 new rooms to the 10 already in use. A SPA & Wellness center is also planned, which will include a panoramic swimming pool, saunas, jacuzzi, treatment rooms and relaxation areas.

The corporate component will be expanded with the development of modular conference rooms with natural daylight, integrated technology and views of the lake and the forest, suitable for various types of events, workshops and retreats.

The investment also includes the redevelopment of the resort’s outdoor space, introducing outdoor facilities such as yoga areas, observation platforms, themed dining areas and other recreational activities.

The project is expected to create 26 new jobs and boost the local economy through collaborations with local suppliers and contractors.

The project is being developed with sustainability in mind, and will include solar panels, heat pumps, intelligent ventilation systems, local natural materials and technologies for efficient energy control. The architecture and operating concepts emphasize integration into the natural landscape and the promotion of a lifestyle based on balance and reconnection.
