Arrivals recorded in tourist accommodation establishments in December last year totaled 548.5 thousand, an increase of 10.1% compared to December 2013. Of these, arrivals of Romanian tourists in tourist accommodation establishments represented 79.9%, while foreign tourists represented 20.1%.
Regarding the arrivals of foreign tourists in tourist accommodation establishments, the largest share was held by those from Europe – 76.1% of the total foreign tourists, and of these, 82.4% were from countries belonging to the
European Union.
Arrivals in hotels held a share of 72.1% of the total arrivals in tourist accommodation establishments with accommodation functions in December 2014, an increase of 10.4% compared to December 2013.
Overnight stays recorded in tourist accommodation establishments in December last year totaled 1146.1 thousand, an increase of 4.5% compared to those in December 2013. Of these, 80.8% were overnight stays of Romanian tourists and 19.2% were overnight stays of foreign tourists.
