ANT Seeks German TUV Quality Certification for Romanian Spa Hotels

The National Authority for Tourism, ANT, wants to modify legislation in the field and introduce the German TUV service quality certificate for spa hotels.
Reimbursements through health insurance funds in Germany or the rest of Europe for treatments performed in Romania are legal and can be carried out, but these health insurance funds have a problem related to the spa classification in Romania because, in Germany, for example, there are different classifications: spa resorts for cure and treatment specialized in mud, water, salt, etc., stated Anca Pavel-Nedea, the president of ANT.
She declared that spa tourism could attract more foreign tourists if hotels or, more precisely, the treatment centers within them could receive DIN ISO-type quality certificates. In Romania, these certifications are not specialized for the spa sector, while in Germany, all resorts and hotels with cure and treatment facilities hold the TUV certification, a seal of quality.
A company interested in performing these certifications for Romanian hotels with cure and treatment facilities is the German consultant HotQua.
To put this project into practice, employees of the cure and treatment centers will participate in 2-week courses in Germany, after which a German team will arrive at the hotels in Romania and verify if they have applied everything they learned, subsequently receiving the TUV certificate.
The project is set to begin in April of this year.
