The minimum funds required for Romania’s tourism promotion amount to 5 million EUR annually, starting from 2017, indicates a marketing, promotion, and representation strategy for Romania for the 2016-2020 period, currently being developed by the National Authority for Tourism, ANT, stated ANT President Anca Pavel-Nedea.
This year, ANT has been allocated 2 million EUR for Romania’s tourism promotion activities, for participation in international profile fairs.
In the immediate future, ANT will finalize the strategy, which it will also review with representatives of industry associations before making it public.
„The restrictive budget did not allow for a substantial allocation for the country’s tourism promotion. We have managed to conclude collaborations that do not require ANT’s financial involvement and which support our efforts to promote Romania from a tourism perspective. As the manager of ANT, I had to start from this reality, embrace it, and come up with a solution that unblocks the situation and provides the tourism sector with a coherent development tool,” specified the ANT President.
The strategy was designed by an internal project team, at no cost.
