The Vice President of the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT), Alin Burcea, stated that if countries worldwide remove the major restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, holiday sales this year will reach 85% of the total recorded in 2019.

He declared that the beginning of the year recorded an upward trend in requests for summer holidays, with people looking for Early Booking offers, especially since travel agencies allow payment of only 25% of the total amount until the end of the promotional period, with full payment being deferrable until 30 days before departure.

He stated that at the level of his agency, Paralela 45, there is an increase at the beginning of the year of approximately 12% compared to the same period last year.

Asked if Egypt remains the main holiday destination sought by Romanians this year, Burcea stated that there is a slight downward trend.
