Alin Burcea is the new president of ANAT

After Aurelian Marin was forced by the ANAT Board of Directors to resign two months ago, halfway through his term, from the leadership of the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT), on May 20, the association organized elections for a 2-year term. The sole participant was Alin Burcea, who was appointed as the president of ANAT.
Alin Burcea, the owner of Paralela 45, was the association’s first president immediately after the Revolution, and in the following years, he was almost always part of the Board of Directors.
Burcea aims, among other things, to establish a guarantee fund to compensate tourists when an agency goes bankrupt, to convince the state to financially support companies that bring in foreign tourists, and to request a 9% VAT for all travel agencies in Brussels.
ANAT has about 550 members, including 450 travel agencies, whose cumulative turnover exceeds 90% of the total sales of the more than 2,000 travel agencies existing in Romania.
