The newest Romanian airline, AirConnect, established in 2021 by Tudor Constantinescu—one of the entrepreneurs who co-founded Blue Air—and four other private investors, has launched its first scheduled flights from Bucharest and Cluj.
The initial destinations are from Bucharest to Baia Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Târgu Mureș, and Budapest, as well as Cluj – Budapest.
Starting in June, other routes will be operated, specifically between Bucharest and Dubrovnik, and between Constanța and Cluj, Oradea, Suceava, and Timișoara.
Tudor Constantinescu was one of those who laid the foundation for Blue Air – Airline Management Solutions, which took over the Blue Air brand and operations in exchange for 6 million RON, also receiving the air transport license.
In 2019, he and Luciana Păunescu sold their shares, and in May 2021, alongside four other private investors, Tudor Constantinescu established AirConnect.
The AirConnect fleet includes two ATR 72-600 aircraft, with a 68-seat configuration.
