7.7 million RON investment in a state-of-the-art museum, unique in Romania, in Piatra Craiului

A state-of-the-art museum, unique in Romania, will most likely open at the end of this year at the exit from Zărnești towards Plaiul Foii.
The museum is set to be completed in the autumn, and visitors will experience spectacular holograms, 3D projections, and a miniature cave.
The investment amounts to 7.7 million RON, of which 6.37 million RON are European funds.
The museum’s interior will be spectacular and unique in Romania. There will be a ramp ascending from the ground floor to the first floor. There will be a model of Piatra Craiului and a walkway where tourists can climb to admire it from above as if they were high up on the mountain. Additionally, images from Piatra Craiului, geological and habitat information, as well as tourist routes, will be projected onto the walkway. Everything will be controlled via a touch screen.
A major attraction will certainly be the diorama section. This is a special one, and not even a touch will be needed to view the information. The tourist will stand in front of them and control the menu just by moving their hands. One of the dioramas will present Romania’s protected areas, while the others will have information about the flora and fauna of Piatra Craiului, as well as a section on insects.
An artificial sheepfold will also be set up so that visitors can see what it looks like inside, along with an artificial cave where bats and other insects living in this environment will be present.
At the same time, four new tourist trails were completed in Piatra Craiului in the spring, and a tourist information center is also set to be established.
