120,000 Romanians visited the seaside in the first weekend of September

In the first weekend of September, approximately 120,000 Romanians arrived on the Romanian seaside, spending around 5.5 million EUR.
Of the 6,144 spots offered for sale through the “Seaside for Everyone” program, over 90% were sold, compared to 70% last year, in the first weekend of September.
“Spending on food and entertainment has decreased considerably compared to the peak season, when a tourist needed at least 150 RON in their pocket for a day at the seaside. Now, for two days at the seaside, including accommodation and meals, a tourist spent an average of 200 RON, almost as much as the transport to the sea cost,” declared Dragoș Răducan, executive first vice-president of the Federation of Romanian Tourism Employers, FPTR.
The “Seaside for Everyone” program, supported exclusively by hoteliers in the seaside resorts, takes place from September 31 to October 11 and provides tourists with spots at rates reduced by up to 60%.
A six-night vacation at a hotel in Mamaia costs 235 RON at 2 stars and 265 RON at 3 stars, while in the southern part of the coast, prices reach 180 RON at 2 stars and 200 RON at 3 stars.
