One United Properties has received the building permit and will start the construction works for the Mondrian Hotel in Bucharest, marking an important step in the development of the first lifestyle hotel in Romania under the international brand.
The estimated completion date for the Mondrian Hotel Bucharest is 2026.
The Mondrian Bucharest will include 103 rooms and suites, with a design inspired by Petre Ispirescu’s fairy tale, “Youth without old age and life without death”.
Each room will be equipped with high-tech features, including ambient lighting, Bluetooth speakers and smart TVs, and the hotel will also have spa and fitness facilities.
Like all One United Properties developments, Mondrian Bucharest is dedicated to sustainable practices.
The hotel will incorporate smart technologies and eco-friendly materials, reinforcing One United Properties’ commitment to sustainability and community benefits.
It is part of the company’s urban regeneration plans, revitalizing a central area near the Romanian Athenaeum, where One United Properties previously acquired a building with the intention of turning it into a hotel.
Mondrian Bucharest is part of the developer’s refurbishment portfolio, which includes the revival of four derelict buildings that will be brought back into the public circuit as One Gallery, One Athénée, Mondrian Bucharest and One Downtown.
The total value of this portfolio has risen to 260 mil.
EUR 260 million, marking the most significant private sector investment in Romania dedicated to the restoration of historical and industrial landmarks.
