Three bids were submitted for the design and execution tender by associations of a total of 56 companies.

The route of section 2 will have a built length (in operation with passengers) of about 4.5 km plus a built length (in operation without passengers – connection with Progresul Depot) of about 1.1 km. Section 2 has 6 stations, 7 interstations, plus a newly built above-ground depot.
