The first ibis hotel opened in Romania in 2001.
The network now has 10 hotels in our country in Bucharest, Timisoara, Arad, Galati, Galati, Pitesti, Sibiu and Venus, with a total of 1153 rooms, under the ibis and ibis styles brands.
Three more ibis Styles hotels will open in the coming years in Cluj, Brasov and Oradea.

Information obtained by ibis from 9,000 consumers in 8 key global markets – the UK, US, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Australia, Brazil, France, India, Australia and China – reveals the intentions and behaviors that drive travel.

Travelers and social media: – 25% of travelers agree that they would book “just a vacation I saw on social media” – this figure rises to 39% for Gen Y/Z – Of those who traveled to a destination because they saw it through an influencer or social media, 28% felt the experience was better than expected – this figure rose to 44% for Gen Y/Z Top three aspects that influence travelers’ choice of destinations:

Travel Intentions: – 72% of travelers say they would prefer to stay in a more affordable hotel and fill their days and nights with fun activities – 58% of respondents said they believe “experiences are better than things” – 57% agree: “It is important to me to experience new things when I travel” – 34% of respondents who will travel in 2025 plan to do so for specific events or experiences.

The campaign has been launched across global social media channels and television networks, with a series of seven moving travel stories showcasing real-life stories taking place at ibis hotels around the world, every day.
