As snow is becoming less and less frequent, authorities in mountain tourist areas are looking for alternatives to save the season, but also to prolong it. The authorities in Sinaia are preparing a summer toboggan run.
The runway, which will have a length of over 2000 m, will be built between 1.400 m and the boarding area at 1000 m of the Sinaia chairlift.
“The installation is designed on a single track and will have 65 sleds,” says Maria Floricică, administrator of Sinaia Urban Transport. According to her, the investment is estimated at around 12 million RON and will be made both with the local administration’s own funds and bank loans.
In his turn, the president of the National Association of Tourist Agencies (ANAT), Alin Burcea, has several times asked tourism players to find alternatives to extend the vacation season, both in the mountains and around the seaside.
