Pullman Bucharest World Trade Center launches La Galette

Pullman World Trade Center Bucharest announces the opening of La Galette Sweet and Meet, more than 30 years after its entry into the Romanian market, a delightful space that combines the art of French pastry with a modern dining experience. The project aims to become one of Bucharest’s top destinations for breakfast, brunch and lunch, catering to the corporate and lifestyle segments alike. Located in the heart of the Capital, in Montreal Square, on the ground floor of Pullman Bucharest World Trade Center, La Galette Sweet and Meet is based on the solid principles of fine French pastry, using quality artisan ingredients, traditional recipes, ennobled by modern preparation techniques. Among those who have left their mark on the La Galette experience are Nicolas Vienne, Senior Director Operations F&B F&B Premium Brands Europe and North Africa at Accor, and Guillaume Vincheneux, Chef Pâtissier at Pullman Paris Montparnasse, former mentor, at the Alain Ducasse Patisserie School. Both played key roles in the pre-opening period, advising on creating the food and beverage menu, equipping the kitchen, furnishing the bar and training the staff. The La Galette menu includes a variety of artisanal desserts and dishes inspired by French cuisine, from classics such as the famous French croissants and omelettes, eggs Benedict, croque madame and French toast, to modern dishes such as the New York Roll, Steak & Eggs or the house signature cheeseburger, ennobled with well-chosen ingredients. Menu highlights include the Chef’s Signature Salad, a combination of fresh ingredients such as juicy tomatoes, blu cheese and tender chicken breast, topped with a subtle balsamic vinegar dressing. To complete the dining experience, the La Galette team added specialty coffee roasted in Bucharest by Origo to the menu. The design of the venue, realized in collaboration with CUMULUS, is inspired by the naturalness of the culinary vision. The space is decorated in warm shades of cream and brown, suggesting simplicity and elegance, with plays of textures and fluid materials, reminiscent of the dough that underpins the La Galette experience. Inspired by the famous Galette des Rois, a French culinary tradition linked to the Epiphany feast on January 6, this event combines history and gastronomy. This day, which celebrates the visit of the Magi to the baby Jesus, has evolved in France into a gastronomic and social event to bring people together. In the spirit of this tradition, the iconic dessert is made from a crispy foie gras crust filled with frangipane, a fine mixture of almond cream, butter, sugar and eggs. The surprise element of this delicacy is the little figurine, or ‘fève’, hidden inside. Whoever finds it becomes the king or queen of the day, perpetuating the joy and magic of tradition. At the Fête des Galettes, guests can enjoy the iconic dessert throughout January. “Fête des Galettes is more than just a culinary event; it is an opportunity to bring an authentic French tradition to the forefront, reimagined in a modern and elegant way for the Bucharest audience,” said Mincho Pachikov, General Manager Pullman Bucharest World Trade Center.
