The real estate developer One United Properties, founded by Victor Căpitanu and Andrei Diaconescu, has signed an exclusive contract with Ennismore to bring The Hoxton hotel brand to the One Downtown project, next to the Odeon Theater in Bucharest.
This new collaboration comes shortly after One United Properties signed a contract with Ennismore that will bring the five-star Mondrian hotel to the previously named One Plaza Athénée project next to the Romanian Athenaeum.
“We have signed an exclusive contract with Ennismore to bring The Hoxton brand.
We are working on the design of the project, after which authorization is next.
We don’t yet know whether the hotel will be categorized as a three-star or five-star, but the Hoxton brand is a lifestyle brand.
This concept is more attractive especially for the younger generation,” announced Victor Căpitanu, Co-CEO One United Properties.
The new hotel brand will be placed on the One Downtown project that will result from the restoration of the 3 historic buildings purchased by One United in 2022 on 19, 21 and 23 Academiei Street, near the Odeon Theater and the “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urbanism.
This group of buildings also housed the Muntenia Hotel, built between 1925 and 1930 but abandoned since 2006.
One United Properties paid 3.73 mil.

The Hexton brand, inaugurated in 2006, is associated with 11 hotels with 1,988 rooms in 6 countries and has another 10 hotels with 1,892 rooms in the pipeline in 8 countries, including Romania.
The brand was founded by Sinclair Beecham and sold in 2012 to Sharan Pasricha’s company Ennismore.
