International hotel group Marriott is expanding its portfolio with a hotel that will operate under the Courtyard brand, and will be positioned next to Iulius Town.
The hotel is scheduled to open in 2029 and will offer 208 rooms and suites, along with four multi-functional conference rooms.

We are equally pleased to announce the debut of the Four Points by Sheraton brand in Romania with an upcoming property in Cluj-Napoca, as well as our first hotels in the tourist cities of Sibiu and Timisoara. With these new market expansions, we will continue to expand our offerings for vacationers. This agreement reinforces the demand we see for international hotel brands in the region, as well as the development of Marriott Bonvoy properties in Romania,” said Silvija Lovreta, Vice President Development – Central and Southeast Europe, Marriott International.

To date, Marriott International’s portfolio in Romania comprises six properties in Romania’s main tourist and business destinations: the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, Sheraton Bucharest, The Marmorosch Bucharest, Autograph Collection, Moxy Bucharest Old Town, Courtyard by Marriott Bucharest and Courtyard by Marriott Cluj-Napoca.
