Marketta Food Hall to open this year

One United Properties and Tomcat Hospitality will open Eastern Europe’s largest food hall, Marketta Food Hall, at One Gallery this year.

The developer One United Properties is currently working on the restoration of the historic former Ford Hall in Bucharest, which will be modernized and brought back to the public under the name One Gallery, while Marketta Food Hall, the gastronomy area, will be operated by Tomcat Hospitality. The opening is expected to take place in the third quarter of this year.

Covering 6,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor spaces, the Marketta Food Hall will include restaurants, terraces with over 2,000 seats, co-working spaces, a speakeasy members bar, 500 parking spaces, etc. The food hall will feature a mix of established local brands as well as new international concepts, and will emphasize inclusivity and quality, bringing together diverse cuisines and differentiating itself from a classic food court by creating a restaurant-like experience.

After the restoration, One Gallery will include, in addition to the food hall concept proposed by Tomcat Hospitality, certified office space, a museum area celebrating the history of the building, as well as a multi-purpose hall for theater performances, cultural events, concerts, conferences, housed in the historic skylight that will cover the first floor. The gross development value for One Gallery is currently estimated at €100 million.
