Hotel Capitol is another Instagrammable Christmas spot in Bucharest

Hotel Capitol is located in one of the most effervescent and popular areas in Bucharest, on the famous Calea Victoriei, just a few steps away from some of the most important tourist attractions such as the National Museum of History, the National Art Museum, the Romanian Athenaeum, the National Theater, the Cismigiu Park or the pedestrian area of the Old Town. At the same time, the hotel is also next to Capșa and Corinthia and the Military Circle. Many of the iconic buildings have prepared their shop windows for the fast-approaching festive season, and the Capitol Hotel has also put on its festive “clothes”. The Louvru Hotel was built at a time when the first modern hotels were being built in Bucharest, similar to those in major European cities. The multi-storey buildings, which were equipped with hot water, central heating, bathrooms, elevators, telephones and even reading rooms, made the transition from the insalubrious inns of Bucharest to accommodation worthy of a European capital. The Luvru Hotel on Calea Victoriei thus became one of the most famous and emblematic hotels in Little Paris. The Louvre, now the Capitol, burned down in 1911 and was rebuilt from scratch. During the First World War, German troops occupying Bucharest checked in at the Louvre.
