Seven tourist attractions in the Republic of Moldova have been included in the “Destination of the Year 2025” contest in Romania. Moldovans are invited to vote for their favorite places included in a final list of over 70 destinations.
Options can be expressed on www.destinatiaanului.ro until March 25, 2025.
Republic of Moldova in seven categories of the competition:
The category “Cities that inspire” includes Chisinau. At the same time, the category “Enchanted Lands” includes the “Plaiul Fagului” Nature Reserve.
Also, the village of Țâra in Floresti was included in the category “Fairytale Villages”, and the “Kazak Club” Equestrian and Agricultural Tourism Complex – in the category “Fun and Adventure”.
Similarly, the Cultural-Natural Reservation “Orheiul Vechi” and the Tourist Complex “Cricova” are in the category “Culture and Education”, and Chisinau municipality and “Eco-Village Văleni” – in the category “Best Promotion”.
Last year, the village of Văleni in the Cahul district won the title “Destination of the Year in the Republic of Moldova”.
The Destination of the Year 2025 competition kicked off in November 2024, with the nominations and entries phase, offering all tourist destinations in Romania and the Republic of Moldova the chance to enter the race.
Of the 30 destinations evaluated from the Republic of Moldova, seven qualified for the final. In Moldova, the competition is organized by the National Tourism Office with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
The Destination of the Year 2025 final brings the 76 most representative tourist destinations from Romania and the Republic of Moldova to the spotlight. The winners are chosen based on a transparent evaluation system. It includes the public vote, the score awarded by the expert jury, the strength of the tourism brand evaluated through a representative sociological survey, as well as the architectural and urban planning aspects.
The grand final winners will be publicly announced on April 8, 2025. The awards will take place at a prestigious event – the Destination of the Year Gala.
Also, during the Gala on April 8, 2025, the special award “Destination of the Year in the Republic of Moldova” will be given to the destination with the highest score.
