The airline Wizz Air has announced a new route from Bucharest to Warsaw, with fares starting from 159 RON or 29.99 EUR. The new route will operate from Bucharest Băneasa “Aurel Vlaicu” International Airport. Starting June 9, 2025, daily flights will be operated between the two capitals. “Wizz Air remains committed to offering its Romanian passengers even more convenient routes and affordable travel opportunities. We are delighted to announce our first permanent route from Băneasa Airport. This route to Warsaw serves as yet another link between two major European capitals, helping Romanian travelers to explore more destinations, visit friends and family in Poland or travel on business,” said Anastasia Novak, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air. This new addition to the airline’s extensive network comes just one month after the carrier announced the allocation of its 19th aircraft at its Bucharest Otopeni base, a new route and increased frequencies from Romania’s largest airport. The capital currently has direct connections to 66 destinations in 24 countries. Wizz Air operates a fleet of 225 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft and was the preferred choice of 62 million passengers in the 2024 financial year ending March 31, 2024. The airline operator is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
