Hesburger opens its fifth restaurant in Romania at Băneasa Shopping City

Hesburger opens its fifth restaurant in Romania at Băneasa Shopping City. Hesburger has created 20 jobs with the opening of the new restaurant. Mega Mall will be the location of the sixth Hesburger restaurant in Romania, scheduled to open by the end of this year “With the opening of this third restaurant in the capital, we are continuing our development strategy, focusing on establishing a strong presence in the Bucharest metropolitan area. After the recent launch of our restaurants at AFI Cotroceni and Henri Coandă International Airport in Otopeni – the largest airport in Romania – we are now happy to expand our operations in another top location, Băneasa Shopping City, one of the largest shopping centers in the country. This location is a major attraction not only for the residents of Bucharest, but also for the many tourists who visit the area,” says Ieva Salmela, International Development & Marketing Director, Hesburger. In May, Hesburger entered the Romanian market with its first restaurant in Râmnicu Vâlcea. By August, the network had opened a new location in Romania’s largest airport, Henri Coandă, in Otopeni, followed by the first Hesburger restaurant in Brăila and a fourth national one in Bucharest, at AFI Cotroceni, opened in October. Hesburger plans to continue its expansion in Romania and open a total of 10 restaurants, following an investment of €8m in its first year of operation. The Finnish company, founded by Heikki Salmela and his wife Kirsti Salmela, started its fast-food business in 1966 in the small town of Naantali. A family business with over 50 years of history, Hesburger now operates in 9 countries and has over 470 restaurants.
