The mountain resorts of Azuga and Sinaia have been included in the annex of the Government Decision by which the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism can finance the extension of the ski area, announced the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Ștefan-Radu Oprea. “The mountain resorts of Azuga and Sinaia have been included in the annex of the Government Decision by which the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism can finance the extension of the ski area to the Administrative Territorial Units (UAT) and the part of the spa resorts, the two projects were elaborated last year. As a result, starting next year they could also be financed”, Oprea said at a press conference on the development of the Prahova Valley’s tourism potential by modernizing and expanding the area’s ski area. The minister said that he had met with the mayors of the tourist resorts in the Prahova Valley, including Azuga, Sinaia and Busteni, with representatives of associations promoting tourism in the mountainous area, as well as with skiing specialists from the Austrian resort of Kitzbühel. “The main goal was to learn from our partners in Kitzbühel, where the situation is similar to ours, with the same type of landscape, with grass ski slopes, how two counties, seven localities, have managed to be together in a ski area with over 233 km of slopes, with over 570 hectares of slopes, to gain more together, to promote themselves, so as to attract as many tourists as possible”, said Ștefan-Radu Oprea.
