The area adjacent to the Nicolae Botgros Palace of Culture in Cahul, the access to the White Nufărul Sanatorium and a section of Victoria Avenue were renovated.
The works, worth over 1,817 mil.
EUR 1,817.1 million, were carried out with the financial support of the European Union (80% of the total amount) and the contribution of the Cahul City Hall (20% of the total amount).
Thus, pavements were paved in the central area of the city, a 0.7 km-long section of road was asphalted, bicycle paths were created, three water jet havuzes, a light and music show and a children’s playground were built.
The mayor of Cahul, Nicolae Dandirs, said that the project has transformed the city center into a beautiful space.
The works to modernize the central area of Cahul municipality were carried out within the framework of the “EU4Moldova: Key Regions”, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP and UNICEF.
They were carried out between September 2023 and August 2024.
