The private medical group MedLife, led by businessman Mihai Marcu, announced the rebranding of the Sweat fitness gym network under the new identity Level Up and the opening of a new location in the Vitan area of Bucharest, following an investment of approximately EUR 500 thousand. The project marks the launch of a platform dedicated to health through movement, prevention, and longevity, according to data provided to StartupCafe.ro.<\/p>\n
The new gym is located in the Bobocica Commercial Complex, on R\u00e2mnicu S\u0103rat Boulevard no. 41, and spans an area of 650 sqm. Through this expansion, the network reaches six locations in Bucharest and a portfolio of around 6,000 active members. The club is equipped with professional equipment provided by Nautilus, including five machines from the Leverage range and an area with eight machines dedicated to glute workouts.<\/p>\n
According to statements made by C\u0103lin Hagiu, CEO of Level Up by MedLife, the group’s objective is to double the current network and reach the threshold of 10 locations by the beginning of next year. The concept integrates physical activity with multidisciplinary clinical services, technology, and genetics. Founded in 1996 by Dr. Mihaela Marcu and taken over in 2004 by her son, Mihai Marcu, MedLife reported for the year 2025 a consolidated pro-forma turnover of approximately EUR 630 million, up nearly 17% compared to 2024.<\/p>\n
