This growth was mainly supported by the increase in accommodation rates, in a context where the number of tourists and the average occupancy rate recorded declines.<\/p>\n<p>According to the analyzed data, the total number of tourists decreased in 2025 to 14.3 million people, with a discrepancy in sources regarding the rate of decline, indicated as 2% compared to 2024 in the text of the report, but 7% in the title of the same section. The average occupancy rate of accommodation units decreased from 30.4% to 28.8%. To compensate for this decline, operators increased rates. In the premium segment (4 and 5 stars), the average price for a night&#8217;s accommodation increased by 8.5%, reaching EUR 94.68.<\/p>\n<p>The 4- and 5-star hotel and aparthotel segment, which totals approximately 83,000 rooms nationwide (representing about 20% of the total accommodation capacity), generated revenues of EUR 974.5 million, which is almost half of the industry&#8217;s total revenues.<\/p>\n<p>Bucharest remains the country&#8217;s most important tourism hub, with an occupancy rate of 72.6% and revenues of EUR 347.7 million in the premium segment. According to HVS Europe, the Capital recorded the third-fastest growth in hotel asset values in Europe (+4.6% year-on-year), although values have not fully recovered from the decline of over 20% during the pandemic. In parallel, regional markets are gaining ground, cumulatively generating EUR 457.4 million in the upscale segment. Among these, Cluj-Napoca attracted revenues of EUR 45.3 million, and Timi\u0219oara recorded EUR 25 million in the 4- and 5-star segment.<\/p>\n<p>The volume of hotel investments in Romania exceeded EUR 60 million in 2025, up by approximately 25% compared to the previous year.
