An Italian consortium led by Itinera S.p.A. has been designated the winner of the contract for the design and execution of Section 4 of the Union Motorway (A8), a strategic investment valued at EUR 700.87 million. The works, which will be executed by the association Itinera S.p.A. \u2013 Saipem S.p.A. \u2013 ICM S.p.A., target a total route of 19.7 kilometers, of which 15 kilometers are in Romania and 4.7 kilometers in the Republic of Moldova. The project includes 12 bridges and passages, as well as two tunnels, the longest measuring 1,700 meters. The infrastructure will provide vital connections for Ia\u0219i Airport, the Regional Hospital, and the future “Pod de Flori” (Bridge of Flowers) at Ungheni. An essential component is the development of the logistics hub at Bere\u0219ti, which will integrate road transport with European and broad-gauge rail, facilitating regional exports.<\/p>\n
