Of these, arrivals of Romanian tourists in tourist accommodation establishments represented 79.9%, while foreign tourists represented 20.1%.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Regarding the arrivals of foreign tourists in tourist accommodation establishments, the largest share was held by those from Europe &#8211; 76.1% of the total foreign tourists, and of these, 82.4% were from countries belonging to the<\/div>\n<div>European Union.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Arrivals in hotels held a share of 72.1% of the total arrivals in tourist accommodation establishments with accommodation functions in December 2014, an increase of 10.4% compared to December 2013.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Overnight stays recorded in tourist accommodation establishments in December last year totaled 1146.1 thousand, an increase of 4.5% compared to those in December 2013. Higher occupancy rates in December 2014 were recorded in hotels &#8211; 23.4%, tourist villas &#8211; 17%, tourist guesthouses &#8211; 15.2%, and in hostels and tourist chalets at 13.4% each.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, recorded at border crossing points, were 606.1 thousand in December last year, an increase of 18.9% compared to December 2013. The majority of foreign visitors come from countries located in Europe &#8211; 93.8%, and of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 60.8% come from European Union states. Among the European Union states, the most arrivals were recorded from Hungary &#8211; 33%, Bulgaria &#8211; 24.3%, Germany &#8211; 9.7%, Italy &#8211; 8.1%, Austria &#8211; 4.6%, and Poland &#8211; 4.1%.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Departures of Romanian visitors abroad, recorded at border crossing points, were 809.2 thousand in December 2014, an increase of 8.5% compared to December 2013. Road transport means were the most used by Romanian visitors for departures abroad, representing 76.8% of the total number of departures.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Arrivals recorded in tourist accommodation establishments in 2014 totaled 8444 thousand, an increase of 6.6% compared to those in 2013. The majority of foreign visitors come from countries located in Europe &#8211; 92.6%.
