{"id":124688,"date":"2015-05-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-05-03T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rhn.ro\/99000-romanians-spent-their-may-1st-mini-holiday-in-domestic-resorts\/"},"modified":"2026-03-28T22:34:39","modified_gmt":"2026-03-28T20:34:39","slug":"99000-romanians-spent-their-may-1st-mini-holiday-in-domestic-resorts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rhn.ro\/en\/99000-romanians-spent-their-may-1st-mini-holiday-in-domestic-resorts\/","title":{"rendered":"99,000 Romanians spent their May 1st mini-holiday in domestic resorts"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>According to an analysis conducted by the Federation of Romanian Tourism Employers (FPTR), 99,000 tourists spent their May 1st mini-holiday in Romanian resorts, approximately 9% more than in 2014.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Dragos Raducan stated that, according to the data, receipts of approximately 35 million RON are estimated across all tourist destinations in the country just from food and entertainment, given that a Romanian spent on average the same amount as last year, namely 120 RON\/day, excluding accommodation and breakfast.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>To this amount is added over 20 million RON for accommodation and breakfast, leading to an estimate of total expenditures by Romanians who went on the May 1st mini-holiday in the country of 55 million RON.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Over 40,000 tourists chose rural destinations.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The number of those who spent the mini-holiday in a seaside resort was slightly higher than in 2014, reaching 25,000 people.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Mamaia resort was again the favorite among tourists this year, recording an occupancy rate of approximately 90% of the total prepared spots. The most requested accommodation structures were 3 and 4-star hotels.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This year, for May 1st, approximately 35,000 accommodation spots in classified structures were made available to tourists on the coast, out of a total of 83,941.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The southern coast had an occupancy rate of about 10%, and in many of the classified units open during this period, there was no demand for accommodation. A larger number of tourists arrived at units equipped with treatment facilities.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Alongside Mamaia, Vama Veche resort was also among the preferences of young people.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>21,000 Romanians booked a holiday in one of the hotels in mountain resorts, where they spent approximately 3.4 million RON on accommodation alone.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Spa resorts were chosen by 12,000 Romanians, who were able to benefit from special treatment and relaxation programs.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Danube Delta was not very attractive among Romanians for May 1st, being chosen by only 1,000 tourists, especially passionate fishermen and tourists looking for something unique.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Approximately 8,000 Romanians spent their May 1st mini-holiday abroad, 7% fewer than in 2014.
