This summer, a thematic trail named “Dinosaur Valley” will be inaugurated in the Ha\u021beg Country Geopark, where tourists will be able to follow the tracks of dwarf dinosaurs.<\/div>\n

The project initiated by the Geomedia Association aims to redevelop the thematic trail called “Dinosaur Valley,” considered one of the seven most beautiful thematic trails in Romania. <\/div>\n

“The trail will be 8 km long on the S\u00e2npetru \u2013 Ohaba Sibi\u0219el \u2013 Nuc\u0219oara route, and can be covered on foot, by bicycle, and partially by car. Along the way, visitors will be able to traverse the places where, about 120 years ago, Ilona Nopcsa, sister of the first dinosaur researcher in Ha\u021beg Country, Franz Nopcsa, discovered the first dinosaur fossils. However, on their journey, tourists will also be able to linger at the House of Dwarf Dinosaurs visiting centers, the House of Traditions, and the Retezat National Park Visitor Center in Nuc\u0219oara. They can admire the Church in S\u00e2npetru village, granite fields, landscapes, specific habitats, local architecture, and learn how people managed based on natural resources by visiting the Folk Technique Complex in Pe\u0219tera village,” stated the spokesperson for the Ha\u021beg Country Dinosaur Geopark, Adina Popa.<\/div>\n

Project coordinator Alexandru Andr\u0103\u0219anu stated that the project aims to develop educational and training activities to integrate the trail into the activities of the local community and the EduGeoparc Network, through workshops and training sessions addressed to students, members of the S\u00e2nt\u0103m\u0103ria Orlea Women’s Association, and local tourism promoters.<\/div>\n

The project benefits from funding of approximately 25,000 RON and is carried out together with the Ha\u021beg Country Dinosaur Geopark Administration Unit \u2013 University of Bucharest, the S\u00e2nt\u0103m\u0103ria Orlea Women’s Association, the S\u00e2nt\u0103m\u0103ria Orlea Local Council, and the S\u00e2nt\u0103m\u0103ria Orlea Gymnasium School.<\/div>\n
