Arrivals recorded in tourist accommodation structures in May this year totaled 829.9 thousand, an increase of 14.6% compared to those in May 2014. Of these, 73.6% represented arrivals of Romanian tourists and 26.4% were foreign tourists.<\/div>\n

Regarding the arrivals of foreign tourists in tourist accommodation structures, the largest share was held by those from Europe – 74.4% of total foreign tourists, and of these, 85.5% were from countries belonging to the European Union.<\/div>\n

Overnight stays recorded in tourist accommodation structures in May totaled 1,818.1 thousand, an increase of 12.3% compared to those in May 2014. Of these, 76.6% were Romanian tourists and 23.4% were foreign tourists.<\/div>\n

Of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 59.5% come from European Union states, and among the European Union states, the most arrivals were recorded from Hungary – 36.9%, Bulgaria – 24.8%, Germany – 9.1%, Italy – 5.7%, Poland – 4.7%, and Austria – 3.8%.<\/div>\n
