Arrivals recorded in tourist accommodation structures in September this year totaled 978.8 thousand, an increase of 18.5% compared to the same period last year. Of the total number of arrivals, 74.9% represented arrivals of Romanian tourists and 25.1%  were arrivals of foreign tourists.<\/div>\n

Regarding the arrivals of foreign tourists in tourist accommodation structures, the largest share was held by those from Europe – 74.8% of total foreign tourists, and of these, 87.7% were from countries belonging to the European Union.<\/div>\n

Overnight stays recorded in tourist accommodation structures in September totaled 2,343.6 thousand, an increase of 16.9% compared to those in September 2014. Of the total number of overnight stays,  79.4% were by Romanian tourists and 20.6% were by foreign tourists.<\/div>\n

Regarding the overnight stays of foreign tourists in tourist accommodation structures, the largest share was held by those from Europe – 73% of total foreign tourists, and of these, 86% were from countries belonging to the European Union.<\/div>\n

Arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, recorded at border points, were 856.3 thousand in September, an increase of 6.7% compared to September 2014. The majority of foreign visitors come from countries located in Europe – 91.9%.<\/div>\n

Of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 55.5% come from European Union states, and among the European Union states, the most arrivals were recorded from Bulgaria – 31.6%, Hungary – 27.9%, Germany – 8.7%, Poland – 7.2%, Italy – 5.6%, and Austria 3%.<\/div>\n

Departures of Romanian visitors abroad, recorded at border points, were 1,056.7 thousand in September, a decrease of 12.9% compared to September 2014. Road transport means were the most used for departures abroad, representing 78% of the total number of departures.<\/div>\n
