The activity of tourism operators in the Danube Delta could be seriously affected for a long period by the reorganization procedure of Tulcea Port, decided by the Ministry of Transport without consulting private tourism representatives from the Delta, according to the sector’s employers’ association.<\/div>\n

„In the coming days, we will convene a joint meeting of the Danube Delta Tourism Employers’ Association and the Delta Association of Shipowners and Port and River Operators Tulcea, where we will present the discussions held with the Maritime Danube Ports Administration. We will demand accountability from those who negotiated the reorganization of Tulcea Port and the tariffs proposed by the Maritime Danube Ports Administration on our behalf with the Ministry of Transport, without considering the interests of tourism operators and shipowners in the Danube Delta,” stated Daniel Ilu\u0219c\u0103, president of the Danube Delta Tourism Employers’ Association.<\/div>\n

On February 18, a meeting took place with the Board of Directors of the Maritime Danube Ports Administration SA Galati, attended by the Federation of Tourism Promotion Associations in Romania, the Litoral – Danube Delta Association, the Danube Delta Tourism Employers’ Association, and the Delta Association of Shipowners and Port and River Operators Tulcea. They protested against the Minister of Transport’s Order no. 1192\/2015 regarding the organization and operation of infrastructure in Tulcea Port and the tariffs applied by the company for the use of port infrastructure by beneficiaries with mooring pontoons, an order issued without consulting the organizational environment in the Danube Delta.<\/div>\n

The meeting discussed the proposed method for awarding port berths, the criteria used to establish the organization of these berths, as well as proposals for the specifications for bidding on port berths. <\/div>\n
