Of these, 79.4% represented arrivals of Romanian tourists and 20.6% represented arrivals of foreign tourists.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Regarding the arrivals of foreign tourists in tourist reception establishments, the largest share was held by those from Europe &#8211; 77.7% of the total foreign tourists, and of these, 85.1% were from countries belonging to the European Union.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Overnight stays registered in tourist reception establishments in February 2016 totaled 1,247.7 thousand, an increase of 16.9% compared to those in February 2015. Higher occupancy rates in February 2016 were recorded in hotels &#8211; 28.4%, hostels &#8211; 16.6%, tourist villas &#8211; 16.2%, tourist guesthouses &#8211; 16%, motels &#8211; 14.5%, and tourist chalets &#8211; 13.3%.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, registered at border points, were 551.3 thousand in February, an increase of 10.2% compared to February 2015. The majority of foreign visitors come from countries located in Europe &#8211; 94.3%. Of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 54.4% come from European Union states. Among the European Union states, the most arrivals were recorded from Bulgaria &#8211; 29%, Hungary &#8211; 27.5%, Italy &#8211; 9%, Germany &#8211; 7.1%, Poland &#8211; 5.2%, and France &#8211; 4.2%.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Departures of Romanian visitors abroad, registered at border points, were 968.7 thousand in February, an increase of 17.7% compared to February 2015. Road transport means were the most used for departures abroad, representing 67.2% of the total number of departures.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In the period January-February 2016, arrivals registered in tourist reception establishments totaled 1,211.9 thousand, an increase of 17.9% compared to the same period in 2015. Of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 53.7% come from European Union states.
