In January of this year, Brasov County was visited by 44,629 tourists, of which 39,145 were Romanian tourists and 5,484 were foreign tourists. The number of Romanian tourists increased by 14.2%, and foreign tourists by 13.1%, compared to the same period of the previous year.<\/p>\n
According to data from the Brasov County Statistical Directorate, arrivals in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions in Brasov County recorded a 14.1% increase in the first month of the year, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.<\/p>\n
During the analyzed period, Romanian tourist arrivals represented 87.7% of the total number of arrivals, an increase compared to January 2010, when this percentage was 87.6%.<\/p>\n
Arrivals in hotels accounted for a share of 61.7%, arrivals in tourist pensions 15.5%, and those in agrotourism pensions 7.7% of total arrivals.<\/p>\n
Of the foreign tourists who stayed in tourist reception structures in Brasov County, 90.2% were from Europe, and 5% from Asia.<\/p>\n
The most tourists were from the Republic of Moldova (2,088 people), Ukraine (622 people), Germany (406 people), France (305 people), the Russian Federation (280 people), and Italy (213 people).<\/p>\n
Overnight stays recorded in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions in Brasov County saw a 19.3% increase in January 2011 compared to the same period in 2010.<\/p>\n
Overnight stays by Romanian tourists represented 84.5% of the total number of overnight stays, while overnight stays by foreign tourists represented 15.5%.<\/p>\n
The average length of stay was 2.4 days, specifically 2.4 days for Romanian tourists and 3.1 days for foreign ones.<\/p>\n
The net utilization index of tourist accommodation places in operation in Brasov was 23.6%, 2.3% higher than in January 2010.<\/p>\n
