Paralela 45 travel agency announces that the demand for holidays on the Spanish coast increased by a quarter this year, nationwide, compared to 2015, compensating for the decrease recorded for Antalya and Bodrum, following the attacks and the failed coup d’\u00e9tat that marked the 2016 season in Turkey.<\/div>\n

The destination launched for the first time this summer, Algarve (Portugal), as well as the Greek islands, the Romanian coast, and the Bulgarian coast, recorded increases of up to 30%.<\/div>\n

Holiday bookings for this year were mostly made during the early booking period and less last minute, with tourists preferring to choose in advance, especially packages at luxury 5-star hotels in the case of Antalya, and 4-star hotels in other destinations.<\/div>\n

The most requested destination of the year was Spain. The average price of a package was 650 EUR\/person.<\/div>\n

For Greece, the most holidays were requested for Chania-Crete, Santorini, Zakynthos, and Mykonos, but Rhodes, Corfu, and Heraklion-Crete were also preferred. The average package for a charter holiday in Greece was 450-500 EUR\/person in Crete, Rhodes, and Corfu, 580 EUR\/person in Santorini, and 250 EUR\/person with individual transport.<\/div>\n

In the case of those who chose car transport, the greatest interest was recorded for the Romanian and Bulgarian coasts, for which tourists made 30% and 15% more bookings, respectively, in the 2016 season compared to 2015.<\/div>\n
