Therme Bucharest Invests \u20ac10M in Galaxy Zone Expansion<\/p>\n

Therme Bucharest invested \u20ac10 million in expanding the Galaxy zone with a 4,000 sqm space.<\/div>\n

Inaugurated in January this year following an initial investment of \u20ac50 million, the center has benefited over time from a series of expansions that cost the Austrian group A-Heat another \u20ac20 million.<\/div>\n

The expansion of the Galaxy zone was completed earlier than the project developers initially planned, as a result of the very high visitor demand for this area, which thus reaches a capacity of 2,000 people simultaneously.<\/div>\n

Among the attractions of this area are three wet saunas, hydromassage beds, infrared rays, and a salt library. It has a height of 6 m and required 40 tons of Himalayan salt to set up the space, which includes 150 volumes of fiction and ebooks and 14 Playstation consoles and games. The main benefits of this library are chromotherapy and aerosols, according to Therme representatives.<\/div>\n

The area also features a pool with the largest pool bar in the Therme center, with a capacity of 80 seats. Additionally, the new space connected to the Galaxy building has a fully retractable roof, in both directions, with a retractable surface of 800 sqm and a weight of about 100 tons.<\/div>\n

With this expansion, the total green area of the complex increases by over 10%, and the number of palm trees reaches 1,400 trees, brought from four continents. Thus, Therme Bucharest comes to host the largest palm plantation in Europe.<\/div>\n

Also, The Palm area was expanded with a terrace having a capacity of 400 seats, an outdoor beach with an area of over 24,000 sqm, and the “Crazy River” pool. Last but not least, the exclusive Elysium area was also expanded with a deck-type terrace, with palm trees, sunbeds, and hammocks.<\/div>\n

For the future, Therme representatives are considering the possibility of opening a hotel near the complex, as well as other expansions.<\/div>\n

Therme Bucharest is the largest Therme in Europe, built greenfield, on an area of 250,000 sqm, with a total surface of 34,000 sqm and a capacity of 4,000 people simultaneously indoors. The center hosts the largest botanical garden in Romania with over 800,000 plants.<\/div>\n
