Of these, 73.7% represented arrivals of Romanian tourists and 26.3% represented arrivals of foreign tourists.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Regarding the arrivals of foreign tourists in tourist reception structures, the largest share was held by those from Europe &#8211; 73.6%, and of these, 86.4% were from countries belonging to the&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>European Union.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Overnight stays registered in tourist reception structures in October 2016 totaled 1,946.0 thousand, an increase of 4.7% compared to those in October 2015. Of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 55.7% come from European Union states. Among the EU states, the most arrivals were registered from Hungary &#8211; 29.1%, Bulgaria &#8211; 27.4%, Italy and Germany with 8.3% each, Poland &#8211; 4.3%, and France &#8211; 3.8%.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Departures of Romanian visitors abroad, registered at border crossing points, were 1,282.8 thousand in October 2016, an increase of 44.2% compared to October 2015. Road transport means were the most used for departures abroad, representing 65.2% of the total number of departures.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Arrivals registered in tourist reception structures in the period January &#8211; October 2016 totaled 9,438.2 thousand, an increase of 10.9% compared to those in the same period of 2015. The majority of foreign visitors come from countries located in Europe &#8211; 92.9%.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 54.1% come from European Union states.
