{"id":122426,"date":"2017-01-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-01-29T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rhn.ro\/mercur-minerva-hotel-disputed-by-administrator-and-owner\/"},"modified":"2026-03-28T14:28:30","modified_gmt":"2026-03-28T12:28:30","slug":"mercur-minerva-hotel-disputed-by-administrator-and-owner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rhn.ro\/en\/mercur-minerva-hotel-disputed-by-administrator-and-owner\/","title":{"rendered":"Mercur-Minerva Hotel Disputed by Administrator and Owner"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The Mercur-Minerva Hotel is the subject of a heated dispute between administrator Marius Usturoiu and owner Sorin Fati, who stated that he terminated the agreement made a few years ago, through which the hotel was leased for a period of 25 years to the company Mareea Hotels for 350,000 EUR\/year, plus VAT.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Marius Usturoiu, however, considers that this is not possible and, arguing that he wants to be able to defend the hotel from Fati&#8217;s &bdquo;abuses&rdquo; and to pay the debts accumulated in the meantime, decided to request the insolvency of his company Mareea Hotels, which manages Mercur-Minerva, for judicial reorganization.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Marius Usturoiu stated that when he took over the hotel it did not have a very good name and was not very profitable, now transforming into one of the best-known brands on the coast, with a turnover of 3 million EUR\/year and a net profit of over 700,000 RON in 2015. To achieve these results, the businessman claims that he invested over 3 million EUR in modernizing and furnishing the hotel during the years he had it under lease.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Marius Usturoiu announced that the court ordered the opening of the general insolvency procedure on the assets of Mareea Hotels S.R.L., appointing TZA Insolventa S.P.R.L. as the judicial administrator.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Usturoiu claims that, in the fall of 2014, Fati took over the hotel complex as an individual from his company, Fati Club, at which point it was valued at 20 million RON. A year later, in September 2015, Sorin Fati decided to sell the hotel in installments to Mareea Hotels, and the pre-contract signed then provided for a sale price of 15 million EUR, to be paid in installments over the next 26 years.
