Of these, 74.8% represented arrivals of Romanian tourists and 25.2% represented arrivals of foreign tourists.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Regarding the arrivals of foreign tourists in tourist reception structures, the largest share was held by those from Europe &#8211; 74.8% of total foreign tourists, and of these, 86.4% were from European Union countries.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Overnight stays registered in tourist reception structures in April 2017 totaled 1587.8<\/div>\n<div>thousand, an increase of 7.9% compared to those in April 2016. The majority of foreign visitors come from countries located in Europe &#8211; 89.9%. Of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 59.2% come from European Union states, and among the European Union states, the most arrivals were recorded from Bulgaria &#8211; 25.1%, Hungary &#8211; 22.4%, Italy &#8211; 10.1%, Germany \u2013 9.2%, France &#8211; 5.4%, and the United Kingdom &#8211; 5%.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Departures of Romanian visitors abroad, registered at border points, were 1711.8 thousand in April 2017, an increase of 36% compared to April 2016. Road transport means were the most used for departures abroad, representing 71.5% of the total number of departures.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Arrivals registered in tourist reception structures in the period January \u2013 April 2017 totaled 2868.9 thousand, an increase of 11.1% compared to the same period of the previous year. Of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 56.3% come from European Union states.
