This version was maintained until the beginning of next year, and at the beginning of next year, these rights are to be granted as well, in cash this time, not as a ticket,” explained Olguta Vasilescu.

The President of the National Association of Travel Agencies in Romania, ANAT, Alin Burcea, criticizes the fact that the granting of holiday vouchers for public sector employees is delayed, as is the guarantee of tourist packages and the Tourism Law. At the same time, he appreciates that granting holiday vouchers in cash will create discrimination between employees in the private system, who receive holiday vouchers, and those in the public system, who will receive cash allowances. Alin Burcea says that the amount of 1,450 RON, which a public sector employee will receive as the equivalent of a voucher, remains unchanged, but will be granted monthly.

Currently, only private companies grant holiday vouchers. The ANAT President says he is convinced that the money will not go into tourism and, moreover, it is very difficult to track 1.2 million settlements.

The ANAT representative requests that the vouchers granted to public sector employees not be removed and that they be granted just like those for employees in the private sector. Last year, holiday vouchers worth 10 million EUR were granted, only in the private sector.

Source: Economica

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the value of the holiday allowance for public sector employees?

The established amount is 1,450 RON, the equivalent of a holiday voucher, and it is set to be granted monthly in cash.

When will the cash allowance replace holiday vouchers?

According to the Minister of Labor, this change will take effect starting in early 2018.

Why does ANAT oppose granting cash instead of vouchers?

ANAT argues that the money will no longer be spent exclusively on tourism and that the measure creates discrimination against private sector employees.

On June 6, the Minister of Labor and Social Justice, Lia Olguta Vasilescu, declared that holiday vouchers and food allowances will be granted in cash starting from the beginning of 2018. „More public sector employees are receiving meal vouchers this year and, additionally, there is an emergency ordinance issued by the Romanian Government, in which…

[2859
["post-121950","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-stirea-editiei-en
["GET
