The average hotel occupancy rate rose to approximately 50-60% during the period considered peak – September, October, November, and in July and August it dropped to around 20-30%, stated Mihai Acatrinei, treasurer of the Romanian Hotel Industry Federation (FIHR) and general manager of the Ramada Majestic hotel in central Bucharest.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He says that, on average, a hotel’s profitability threshold is somewhere around 50-60%, so in the two summer months, left without business travelers, Bucharest hotels operated at a loss.
