Mircea Vladu, who sold the tour operator Prestige Tours seven years ago to the Spanish investment fund GED\u2014which also owned the travel agencies Happy Tour and Paravion in Romania\u2014has reached an agreement with the other shareholders of Happy Tour to take over his 4.99% stake in the company’s share capital, receiving EUR 150,000 gross in return. From this amount, after tax deductions, he will receive just over EUR 126,000.<\/p>\n

Vladu says that by offering him this money, the other shareholders have essentially valued Happy Tour at EUR 3 million, but he believes the company is worth more.<\/p>\n

Currently, Mircea Vladu is the owner of the travel agency Holiday Office.<\/p>\n

Market sources claim that Happy Tour has been for sale for some time, a fact officially confirmed by businessman Dragos Anastasiu, who admitted in the summer that he was negotiating the takeover of the agency.<\/p>\n

In 2011, Mircea Vladu sold the tour operator Prestige Tours to the Spanish investment fund GED, which also owned the travel agencies Happy Tour and Paravion in Romania. He received cash for half of the company, and for the other half, he received social shares, specifically 4.99% of Happy Tour’s capital.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, Happy Tour shareholders carried out a capital increase, and his stake decreased to under 1%. He won a lawsuit, and the percentages were restored to the original 4.99%.<\/p>\n

Following the changes in Happy Tour’s shareholding, the investment fund GED holds 97.23% of the share capital, the agency’s general manager, Javier Garcia del Valle, holds 2.03%, and Remus Visan, former director of Paravion, holds 0.74%.
