In 2017, Hunedoara and Cluj counties attracted over 1 million tourists, both Romanian and foreign. The most visited tourist attractions in the area were Turda Salt Mine (Cluj), Corvin Castle, and the Dacian fortress Sarmizegetusa Regia (Hunedoara).<\/p>\n

Turda Salt Mine, in Cluj county, was visited last year by over 600,000 people. Currently, work is underway to expand the visiting capacity of the Turda salt mine, an investment estimated at EUR 10 million.
 
In 2017, Corvin Castle was visited by 333,334 tourists, recording revenues of RON 6.2 million.<\/p>\n

The Dacian fortress Sarmizegetusa Regia was visited in 2017 by over 70,000 tourists. According to statistical data from the Hunedoara County Council, revenue increases of 300% were recorded, from RON 224,000 in 2016 to approximately RON 670,000 in 2017. <\/p>\n
