The British company Intelink, which supplies amusement park equipment to clients, has submitted an offer to purchase Terra Park in Bucharest’s District 6, which went bankrupt shortly after opening.<\/p>\n
However, the British company is currently willing to negotiate the purchase of the equipment from Terra Park starting at a price of approximately EUR 500,000, given that the investment in the entire park in the Drumul Taberei neighborhood was estimated at around EUR 25 million at the time.<\/p>\n
Currently, the park operator, controlled by businessman Razvan Petrovici, is in bankruptcy, with the equipment remaining unused for about 4 years.<\/p>\n
The park opened in the fall of 2011 and was promoted as the main entertainment venue in Bucharest’s District 6.<\/p>\n
Subsequently, however, it was found that the park lacked major points of attraction, and the number of visitors was 70% lower than projected in the feasibility study. Under these conditions, the park was closed in 2014.<\/p>\n
The investment was and is presented as the first themed amusement park in Romania.<\/p>\n
The investors positioned the park between the two large malls in District 6, Plaza and AFI, thus counting on an influx of visitors from both directions, but they quickly concluded that the park’s attractions were not convincing enough, so revenues were far below the plan.<\/p>\n
The park paid a substantial rent for the occupied land, amounting to EUR 170,000 per month.<\/p>\n
