Circa 25,000 Romanians will go on mini-vacations within the country for Valentine’s Day, with the most sought-after domestic destinations being major cities, luxury hotels in mountain areas, hotels with SPA facilities in health resorts, and rural guesthouses, according to a study by the Federation of Romanian Tourism Employers, FPTR.<\/p>\n
„Since Valentine’s Day fell during the week, hoteliers and restaurant owners have made offers for the weekend following this holiday. On the other hand, Romanians will not give up on the fun even if they celebrate in their city of residence, as restaurants, clubs, and bars come with offers created specifically for this day” stated Dragos Raducan, first vice-president of FPTR. <\/p>\n
The special tourist offers prepared include, in addition to accommodation services, depending on the hoteliers’ imagination, fruit baskets, bottles of champagne, a romantic dinner with a menu specific to the event and live music, free access to the pool, sauna, jacuzzi, emotional shower, couple’s massage, or aromatherapy.<\/p>\n
Prahova Valley ranks first among the destinations attracting tourists for Valentine’s Day, followed by health resorts.<\/p>\n
FPTR estimates that in 2018 Romanians are spending less on Valentine’s Day for several reasons: transport infrastructure remains inadequate for an increased flow of tourists; Valentine’s Day immediately follows the students’ holiday, which puts a dent in Romanians’ budgets; there are fears regarding future salary income, which creates restraint regarding vacation spending.
