On June 26, the Ministry of Tourism announced the completion of the procedure to amend GD 24\/2017 regarding the functioning of the Ministry of Tourism, which provides, among other things, for the re-establishment of Romania’s external promotion offices.<\/p>\n

The new draft normative act provides for the establishment of 20 external representations in the most important markets for Romanian tourism.<\/p>\n

“Unlike the old formula, each external office will have two employees, tourism attaches. The new measure intensifies efforts to promote Romania as a major international tourist destination. Thus, the project provides for a number of 40 tourism attaches who will work abroad,” the Ministry of Tourism informed.<\/p>\n

In addition, the project also provides for the establishment of 5 new internal territorial representations in Bucharest, Suceava, Harghita, Sibiu, and Bistrita-Nasaud. Currently, 12 territorial representations operate within the Internal Tourism Service.
